Description:

This project involved alterations and additions to a Heritage-listed worker’s cottage in Carlton North. The tight urban context presented challenges in the form of amenity impact on adjoining neighbours whilst also needing to ensure that the heritage integrity of the dwelling was not impacted.

The use of north-facing clerestory windows and a raked ceiling to the rear addition ensure that a light-filled space is created, counteracting the small footprint of the dwelling.
